Chapter 54
Chapter 54. Heart-Pounding Summer Vacation!
Milena’s sparkling eyes were shining brightly with her determination to go together somehow. Henelone met her burning eyes and awkwardly nodded her head.
A trip with her sister-in-law. She thinks she might be a little uncomfortable… but she is also secretly looking forward to it.
Henelone had no close friends of the same gender. Two years before, Milena, who had become a m*mber of her baronial family through her marriage to her brother, was her only peer. Isn’t this, in its own way, a trip with her friend? Her heart fluttered happily.
“Oh, by the way, lady.”
“…yes?”
“This necklace is a diamond necklace I bought, so you must handle it! Carefully!”
Henelone’s bewildered eyes turned to her neck. The transparent jewel shining brightly in the sunlight streaming through the window was very burdensome. Henelone cried, horrified, with her pale face.
“Why are you wearing something like that around my neck? I just won’t do it!”
“What? You have to go on a date with Count Russell!”
“No matter what! I’d rather give you that turquoise necklace from last time!”
Which friend is like this! Milena always intended to drive her away from her mansion! Henelone pursed her lips and furrowed her brows. She stretched out her hand behind the nape of her neck. Milena, holding her hand tightly, murmured quietly, her eyes flashing fiercely.
“Turquoise jewelry isn’t enough. This is a date that makes the decision of whether or not you can get married.”
“……..”
She was so shocked that she couldn’t even say anything. To Henelone, this wasn’t such an important date. The force was so strong that she couldn’t let go of the hand she was holding, so she finally gave up and let her shoulders droop.
Milena let go of Henelone’s hand and held her shoulder tightly. This time, Milena lifted her earring and pushed it into her earlobe.
“This is a diamond earring set with a necklace.”
“…ha.”
Yesterday afternoon, a card arrived at Baron Pallenberg’s residence along with a large bouquet of flowers. The sender is Adrian Russell. The recipient is Henelone Pallenberg. Naturally, the mansion was turned upside down.
It was just a simple card asking how about going to a cafe together tomorrow, but Milena and Diana searched their respective dressing rooms. They gathered all the prettiest and most expensive things, and stormed into Henelone’s room.
And now.
As soon as the day dawned, Henelone was thrown into the bathtub and was thoroughly dressed up, scrubbed, and even coated with her scent. Her eyelashes and rosy cheeks were carefully raised.
This time they tried to be a little more seductive and painted her lips red. She thought it wouldn’t suit her, but it suited her quite well. It made her plain face look quite attractive.
Henelone, her wide, dark green dress revealing her shoulders and her upper br*asts awkwardly, fiddled with her necklace. She thought the exposure of her upper body was too much. However, she was wearing a gorgeous diamond necklace, which distracted the attention a little and created an alluring atmosphere.
“But it’s so flashy…!”
It wasn’t a night ball, but a midday date. It was overly extravagant. It was an outfit designed to tempt anyone who could see her. It seemed like Adrian would feel burdened. Henelone, with her face in tears, grabbed Milena’s hand. But Milena, who did not even sneer, shook her hand away and raised her upper body.
“It’s done, so move quickly. Oh, no. Don’t you think it would be better to be a little late? Miss, once you get to the date, don’t get off right away, take the carriage around the city one more time and then get off.”
“Milena…….”
“Oh, I can’t trust you. I’ll go down first and tell the coachman.”
“That’s right. Oh-ho-ho!”
“Hohoho!”
Henelone’s cold eyes glanced alternately between the two laughing women. She thought about it before, but these women really fit together well. Well, it’s much better than having the family atmosphere shattered due to conflict between the mother and sister-in-law. For this, she was willing to suffer to some extent.
In the end, she kept her mouth shut without being able to say anything, but Milena, who was standing outside her door, stuck out her head and shouted.
“Be sure to take the gloves and come down, Lady!”
Tak.
The door was closed.
She thought the clothes were too over-the-top, but fortunately, gloves seemed to be allowed. Since it is daytime, long gloves would be better, right? She doesn’t know if there are any gloves that would go well with this dress. Henelone got up from her seat and looked at the things hanging here and there on the couch, when Diana quietly came to her side and held out her gloves.
“Hey, these are gloves made from Harfield silk, so you have to wear them nicely? Got it?”
“……..”
“It’s expensive.”
“Oh, I don’t know!”
Henelone’s eyes shot up in an instant. She didn’t like the idea of being dressed so expensively. Eventually, Henelone shouted in displeasure and walked out of her room, stomping her foot hard on purpose.
Diana, who was left alone behind her, looked at her back with her distant eyes. She then opened her fan and let the wind blow.
“Oh my, she’s over puberty now. Ugh. Anyway, it’s really hot.”
As summer approaches, it is getting hotter with each passing day.
