“I hate you.”

In a time of great upheaval, Edmund Lockberg was praised as the perfect image of a nobleman.

One summer, while staying at his villa by the Tannic Sea, he came across something utterly absurd.

A trespasser had not only dared to step onto his private property but had also gotten herself stuck in the iron gate, struggling awkwardly.

Her name was Vivian Mabel, a spirited girl full of dreams about crossing the sea and discovering a new world.

But every time he saw her, she would turn and run away, showing him nothing but the back of her pale head.

Years passed. When Edmund returned to the Tannic Sea, the girl who had once gotten under his skin had grown into a woman.

The moment he saw her standing next to her fiancé, Edmund was finally forced to admit the truth.

He felt a sudden rush of emotion and a desire that was far from pure.

Because of that, he broke her down and pushed her to the edge, just to make her his.
He believed that by the end of this exhausting summer, he would finally reach the limits of his obsession.

But Edmund didn’t understand.
No matter how much he took, it was never enough. The more he had, the more he wanted.
Even her heart became something he could not stop longing for.
It was foolish, but he could not let go.

On the day Vivian ran away with her first love, her former fiancé, Edmund finally found the answer.

Hatred.
Yes, I hate you.
That is why I will bring you to despair once more.
This time, with a shackle you can never escape.
