- Chapter 18: Sillas’s Summon part 2
“How about trying a different approach?”
“A different approach?”
At the Mage Tower, they didn’t just teach everyone the same fixed magic system. Research on new magic or supporting academic studies was constantly ongoing. For instance, alchemy, herbalism, and healing magic were some of the areas being explored.
Fay had been casually reading about such subjects but hadn’t found anything particularly compelling or discovered any exceptional talent for them.
“Remember Momo?”
The sudden mention of her companion, Momo, made the creature twitch, as if it was having a nightmare, before it settled back down.
“What about Momo?”
“You’re not just a magician, Fay. You’re a Drakan Rider. You should use that advantage.”
“But how…?”
“For now, practice boosting your magical power, and let the Undine Queen handle the casting.”
“What?”
“Then, you just ride Momo, reach your target, cast your spell, and fly back. Victory’s yours.”
It sounded simple, but if possible, it would be an incredible strategy.
Magicians had to focus entirely on completing their spells, so moving during the process was nearly impossible. While they could use a mode of transport, it was rarely preferred since focus was critical.
But if Fay’s magic was channeled through the Undine Queen, while she simply provided mana, her magic could surpass that of an ordinary summoner. It was obvious without even seeing it that Fay’s magic would be more destructive than that of most spirit summoners.
Even if the same spirit was summoned, there was a difference between the spirit of a summoner and the one summoned by a magician. A summoner’s affinity and a magician’s strict control of magical power are bound to differ.
It’s only natural that dominance, which comes from power, would be far superior to affinity, which requires no price; Lucius pointed this out.
“Well, I don’t know. I’m not exactly planning to join a war.”
“Whether you do or don’t, mastering your abilities is never a bad thing. If it’s too much pressure, just use Momo. Fly to the target, dive-bomb, and unleash your magic. Just protect yourself with a spell. Momo’s scales and skin are tough.”
Momo, still half-asleep, suddenly sneezed as if sensing his grim fate. Fay shook her head, smiling.
“Hmm, if you take me somewhere quiet, I’ll keep practicing riding Momo. But even if I become a full-fledged Drakan Rider, I don’t think I’ll need to fight, will I?”
“What makes you so sure?”
“Who’s going to want me for that? It’s just me on a drakan, after all.”
“Every warrior starts in obscurity. If you’re already famous, you’re a knight, not a warrior.”
“Warrior? If I hadn’t come to the Mage Tower, I’d probably be baking brioche for traveling warriors.”
Fay laughed it off.
Her current life, as a mage accustomed to the ways of the tower, was precious. She had no desire to step outside and achieve something grand or immerse herself in society.
If there came a time when she had to, it would be when Dott’s claws reached out again.
Yet, the moment for her to blend with society would come sooner than expected.
A confidential and important request had arrived at the Mage Tower.
— — —
The Mage Tower didn’t usually take requests, and those that couldn’t be trusted even to the shadowy guilds were extremely rare. Most requests were declined, so this was a very unusual occurrence.
And the client had specifically asked for Fay.
“Something feels off.”
“Right? Who would know me well enough to place a request for me?”
Fay grew tense.
Could it be that Dott, who went to the Duke Klein’s estate, had already managed to manipulate the Duke and Duchess in some way?
It wouldn’t have been hard for him to find out that she had changed her name from Morgana to Fay.
She had never told Dott that Morgana had another name, Morgan le Fay, but wasn’t it obvious that Beryl and her daughter would know?
In Fay’s mind, Dott was definitely someone who would extend her grasp at this point. However, after speaking with the Undine she had sent to the Duke’s residence, an unexpected piece of news arrived.
Dott wasn’t staying in the main estate but in a secluded house.
Although the distance between the Mage Tower and the Duchy was considerable, making it difficult for the Undine to move far from the nearby pond, this discovery alone was a significant gain.
‘Does this mean she’s unable to perform her usual duties? She’s probably furious. She hasn’t been recognized as a noble yet and now she’s banished to some remote place. No doubt she’s scrambling to find a way out. I can’t let my guard down.’
She had planned to decline the request, but Ben, a senior mage from the tower, persuaded her, revealing a little secret.
The ones who issued the request were from the Imperial Family. And it came from the direct line. Tower Master Neiah herself had confirmed and approved the request.
“…”
The Imperial Family’s direct line wants me?
Fay tried to recall memories from when she was still Eina.

Iria preferir que o ML fosse o próprio irmão dela rs Esse Sillias parecia ter interesse na impostora na outra vida dela, não gosto quando o ML já gostou de outra
