Chapter 41
Chapter 41
“F*ck, it’s because of that damned prince, Killian!”
“……”
“That bastard took advantage of my weakness and threatened me. He said he would ruin my family if I didn’t break off the engagement with you!”
Lilles ground his teeth as he thought of Killian Escass.
It wasn’t that he didn’t get along well with that strange guy who never even came out of the palace.
Even before Lilles entered the academy, when he was young, his family and the palace had quite a bit of interaction. Lilles even went to the swordsmanship training with Killian.
Back then, Killian wasn’t that strange. He was a bit clever, but he was bright enough, kind enough, and sensible enough.
However, right before he entered the academy, when his biological mother, the empress, passed away, he started to act strangely.
Of course, he thought he would go to the academy with him, but he suddenly stopped most of his external activities and didn’t come out of the palace.
He didn’t get sick or anything. Although he didn’t say anything in detail, Lilles guessed that there was a conflict between him and his father, the Emperor, through several signs.
After that, Lilles noticed a strange shadow in Killian whenever he met him. He became quite cynical, sometimes looking at him as if he despised him. He even made sarcastic remarks at him while pretending not to, as if he was picking a fight.
The two of them didn’t fight or argue, but their relationship gradually became awkward.
They still kept in touch occasionally because of their childhood memories, but they was no longer comfortable with each other.
The only time they were able to shed the pretense of being friends was after Idina was introduced at the Academy.
Killian came to the Academy to see him for the first time in a long time, and he happened to see Idina as he passed by and waved at her.
At that time, Lilles wanted to brag to Killian that he had such a cute and pretty fiancée.
<Your Highness, this is Idina Bride, my fiancée.>
However, Killian’s eyes became strange after being introduced to her.
<……Omega?>
His voice also calmed down a bit.
Did he have bad memories of an Omega? He thought of it for a moment.
However, Killian never really came out. It wasn’t rumored that he was bringing anyone into the palace.
The only Omega that was next to him was the empress.
However, he heard that the empress wasn’t also on good terms with him…….
Although such a question came to mind, Lilles brushed it off and teased Idina, who was always talking back to him.
Idina was cute and pretty, and even innocent. She often blushed and was easily provoked by his provocations.
After a brief fight, when she got annoyed and ran away, Lilles felt a slight sense of pl*asure. That made him feel better…….
<Your Highness?>
While he took his eyes off of him for a moment, Killian and Idina, who was far away, were looking at each other. It was a much longer encounter than hs thought.
And Lilles felt that his Alpha instinct was sending him a warning.
<…….>
They hadn’t really talked much, and they were just looking at each other from afar.
Lilles knew.
In terms of status and everything, Killian was far superior to him. He was so handsome that even a man would think he was good-looking.
What about Idina? She was especially cute and pretty among omegas. Like a child with a pure and innocent look, looking at her made him feel good.
There were many guys in the Academy who liked Idina, whether she knew it or not. Lilles got rid of those guys whenever he had the chance, but guys who fell for her kept showing up.
That’s how the two people who stood out met.
They might have been drawn to each other. Idina didn’t know, but at least it seemed that way to Killian.
It was the first time that Killian had shown someone so much interest in his eyes and silently stared at them. His heart sank, but Lilles tried to pretend not to notice.
It seemed like love at first sight.
At least that’s what it looked like to Lilles.
He consoled himself by saying that even if they fell in love now, there wouldn’t be many opportunities to meet. He didn’t even go out of the palace much anyway.
<Your Highness?>
Kilian turned to look at him only when Lilles called him. Then he walked down the hallway of the Academy again.
In fact, the two didn’t have time to have a deep conversation. The news of Crown Prince Killian’s appearance at the Academy had spread everywhere, and the children had gathered to watch.
In the end, without much conversation, Killian got on the carriage back to the palace.
However, instead of starting the carriage right away, he invited Lilles to get on for a moment. He started talking to Lilles about something really, really useless.
<You said she was your fiancée? I think she’s from the Bride family.>
He couldn’t understand why he insisted on him getting on the carriage and bringing up this topic. Although he felt quite nervous, Lilles answered obediently.
<……That’s right.>
<Your attitude just now was quite annoying.>
<…….>
<You should act like a noble. How can you act so vulgarly?>
Vulgar?
Lilles furrowed his brows. Even though he was the crown prince, he was also a friend. However, he scolded Lilles as if he was far superior.
<Idina is a lady. How do you treat her?>
