“F*ck, it’s because of that damned prince, Killian!”

“That bastard took advantage of my weakness and threatened me. He said he would ruin my family if I didn’t break off the engagement with you!”

Lilles ground his teeth as he thought of Killian Escass.

It wasn’t that he didn’t get along well with that strange guy who never even came out of the palace.

Even before Lilles entered the academy, when he was young, his family and the palace had quite a bit of interaction. Lilles even went to the swordsmanship training with Killian.

Back then, Killian wasn’t that strange. He was a bit clever, but he was bright enough, kind enough, and sensible enough.

The only time they were able to shed the pretense of being friends was after Idina was introduced at the Academy.

Killian came to the Academy to see him for the first time in a long time, and he happened to see Idina as he passed by and waved at her.

At that time, Lilles wanted to brag to Killian that he had such a cute and pretty fiancée.

However, Killian’s eyes became strange after being introduced to her.

They might have been drawn to each other. Idina didn’t know, but at least it seemed that way to Killian.

It was the first time that Killian had shown someone so much interest in his eyes and silently stared at them. His heart sank, but Lilles tried to pretend not to notice.

It seemed like love at first sight.

At least that’s what it looked like to Lilles.

He consoled himself by saying that even if they fell in love now, there wouldn’t be many opportunities to meet. He didn’t even go out of the palace much anyway.

Kilian turned to look at him only when Lilles called him. Then he walked down the hallway of the Academy again.
