Chapter 11
Chapter 11
As the two of them ascended to the dance floor, several people turned to look at them. The chandelier lights reflected in the fountain, creating a beautiful night scene.
Idina held his hand and began to turn.
Noble children are consistently taught dance from a young age. However, just because they’ve learned it for so long doesn’t mean they can dance well at any time, with anyone.
They might step on others’ feet countless times or make mistakes depending on who they were dancing with.
Yet, the nameless man in front of her led Idina’s dance effortlessly.
‘You’re good at this…’
The smile that always lingered on the man’s lips reminded her of her own debutante ball. Her first dance with Lilles at her coming-of-age ceremony.
Back then, he hadn’t held her hand as gently as this man did now, nor had he smiled at her.
Idina had made several mistakes and ended up stepping on Lilles’s foot. At that time, Lilles’s face had turned red, as if he were holding back curses rising to his lips.
But as she followed the man’s skillful lead, Idina soon forgot about her nervousness and found herself turning gracefully in front of the crowd.
As her dress fluttered like flower petals, someone in the audience applauded the two of them. A beautiful banquet hall dance floor filled with light, where sweet melodies flowed.
The man tightened his hold on Idina’s waist and whispered, “Your dance line is very beautiful, lady.”
His tone was almost seductive, but Idina didn’t feel offended.
“Thank you for the compliment, Unidentified Gentleman.”
“We both have the same identity. Is it really necessary to emphasize that so much?”
“You’ve set my heart on fire tonight. Shouldn’t you expect at least this much sarcasm?”
“I have no idea what you mean by ‘setting fire.’”
Idina smiled quietly at him as he pretended not to care.
Between their hands, which were interlocked, the token the man had given her earlier rested. Idina’s eyes flicked to it.
“Because of you, I’ll be wondering if this token belongs to His Highness the Crown Prince Escass until I open my eyes tomorrow morning. Well, it will be revealed who the Crown Princess will be tomorrow anyway.”
“Gosh….”
Furthermore, this man’s appearance was a bit of a problem.
He had blond hair and blue eyes, just like the real Crown Prince Killian Escass. Even though it was a very common combination in the Empire, Idina couldn’t help but resent him just a little.
However, Idina was of the opinion that it would be better to quickly give up on empty dreams.
“And I’ll be very disappointed when I find out you’re a completely different person.”
“If I’m not the Crown Prince, will you be very disappointed? That would be quite humiliating to my pride.”
“But what can I do? The Crown Prince is the star of this party.”
“The rest are just nothing?”
The man seemed genuinely annoyed by Idina’s words.
Idina swallowed nervously, realizing that his words were sharp, though he was telling the truth. However, since it was her turn, Idina decided to look away from him.
“That’s right…”
But before she could even finish her sentence with a simple “Yes,” Idina was taken by surprise. At the wrong moment, the Alpha behind her grabbed her hand and pulled her waist into an embrace.
“I fully understood your intentions.”
Idina took a deep breath. She looked up at the man above her, embarrassed by the situation.
She was tired of his gaze, constantly looking down at her. Moreover, it wasn’t ideal for the two of them to be like this on an open dance floor.
Instead of pushing him away, Idina politely pointed out, trying to avoid causing unnecessary trouble.
“…We’re t-too close.”
Her voice trembled uncontrollably. Idina shook her eyes under her mask, mortified by this truly embarrassing turn of events.
On the other hand, the Alpha, who still held her hand tightly, smiled with a glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
His attitude was quite relaxed. He slowly released the hand around her waist and guided her turn again, smoothly continuing as if nothing had changed.
The hem of Idina’s dress spread out beautifully, and the two continued to dance.
However, when she heard the next words, Idina panicked and stepped on his foot.
“I want to propose to you publicly.”
“Oh, yes…?”
She saw the man furrow his brows as she stepped on him with the heel of her shoe. It must have hurt.
But Idina was so flustered that she couldn’t even offer a simple apology. Instead, she looked up at him with a confused expression, wondering what on earth he was talking about.
The Alpha looked down at her as if he found her reaction cute and continued in a relaxed tone.
“If I were to wander around looking for someone with my token and come to you, would you accept my proposal?”
“….”
“Beautiful Omega Lady?”
How can you know beauty without even seeing my face? Even though the beauty of omegas is almost guaranteed, as always, people have their own tastes. No one knows if her face will be to his liking.
Idina felt incredibly embarrassed by his courtship. She thought she should ask him something different, but her mind went blank. Instead, she asked the most direct question she could think of.
“You don’t know my name or face?”
“I don’t know your name or face.”
