I awoke to find myself trapped within the body of a side character from a game I once used to play…

Yes, I wasn’t the heroine—nor even part of the main story.
I was merely a shadow on the sidelines, created to toil, to earn money… only to have everything I possessed ripped from my hands and handed over on a silver platter to the unknown protagonist.

And the tragedy?
I don’t even remember who that protagonist is.

Here I am, living a stolen reality, where every accomplishment slips through my fingers like grains of sand… and I have no right to object.

And as if that wasn’t enough, I was told I’m in a “Temporary Life” phase.
My character data will be deleted after one year, as if my entire existence was never meant to last.

…No. I refuse to vanish so pitifully!

Even if the end is inevitable—at the very least, I must see the face of the one who robbed me. Just once… I want to slap them across the face.

And so, I set off for the capital.

“What was said to be missing? The bag is still here.”

It was there that I met him—
Howard Chilston.
Commander of the Templar Knights, and one of the pillars of this world… though technically just an NPC.

The money I had always lost remained safe in his hands.
And more than that… when I looked into his eyes, something deep within me stirred—
A hidden strength I never knew I possessed.

Perhaps, just perhaps… if I stayed by his side, I could live out the rest of my days with dignity, maybe even a little comfort.

“Commander, would you consider making a deal with me?”

Be my personal bank account—just for one year.
And in return… I’ll devote what remains of my life to saving you.

* * *

Yes…
That was all I ever wanted.
A simple deal. Clear, clean.

But the man who became my “pretend lover” because of that agreement…
Began to act strangely.

“I truly think you’re the most beautiful woman in this world.”

“I love you… sincerely.”

His words began slipping into my heart—
Like a soft melody whispering to me in a darkness I’d never escaped.

“I’ll make sure you’re never alone again.”

Promise after promise, kindness I had never known.
A tenderness that crossed the boundaries of our contract… and slipped quietly into my soul.

So now I wonder…
Can I really walk away from this man?
